Kahana had been working at home during Hurricane Beryl when his power went out. For most people, that would be the end of the work day. Kahana is not like most people.
There are many excuses one could use to say "I can't work today."
Perhaps the ultimate excuse is that there is a hurricane.
Hurricane Beryl did not phase Houston-based RFX Enterprise Rep Kahana Sizemore.
Kahana had been working at home during Hurricane Beryl when his power went out.
For most people, that would be the end of the work day.
Kahana is not like most people.
Kahana immediately hopped in his truck and braced the storm. He headed to the office without knowing that there would be power.
By some miracle the office had power and Kahana plugged in to help manage critical shipments for RFX customers.
Chief Capacity & Sales Officer Ryan Nolan said,
"As a leader of this org, I obviously cannot condone this type of reckless behavior. However- I’d be lying if I said our entire team wasn’t fired up when he trekked into the office during Hurricane Beryl.”
I asked Kahana to comment on his actions, and he told me he’s just “built different” and the “jobs gotta get done.”
In my personal opinion, this speaks to the culture and commitment RFX has built both in Houston and Tampa. When you have employees willing to drive through Hurricanes you're doing something right.
Huge shout out to Kahana and RFX for servicing their customers no matter the conditions.
