April saw a 20% year-over-year decrease in used Class 8 truck sales, falling to 17,600 units, accompanied by a 29% drop in average price, according to ACT Research. With inventory growing and demand softening, Steve Tam, Vice President at ACT Research, anticipates demand for used equipment will likely decrease as freight volumes continue to contract. However, industry insiders are hopeful for a market turnaround by year's end.
