Last week, Highway released its Q4 2025 Freight Fraud Trends Report. The report outlined the countries outside the U.S.
The freight sector faces an 181% increase in data breaches from 2022 to 2023.
• 3,205 data breaches in the US in 2023 - up 78% from 2022
• Transportation sector: 101 breaches, 181% increase year-over-year
• 12 million victims in transportation & shipping sector alone

The transportation industry is under siege. Data breaches have more than doubled, matching the total cases from the past three years combined. No other sector saw such a dramatic spike.
